About

Sosta is a publication on taste, provenance, rituals and places.

It is released in numbered issues, in Italian and in English, and concerns itself with what, to be understood, still requires the patience of presence: materials, wines, oils, tables, places, gestures, people and forms of hospitality.

Sosta proceeds through seasonal issues. Issue 00 — Summer 2026 opens the series; the next issue will be Autumn 2026.

We do not review and we do not score. Taste already has many places where it is ranked, consumed, celebrated or sold. Far rarer are those that treat it as a cultural question: an expression of time, place, choice, labour, ritual and vision.

That is where Sosta stands.

Every selection is a thesis. Every piece, a position we are willing to defend.

The word, in Italian, names a deliberate suspension within a journey: the moment when the path is not interrupted, but gathered, measured, redirected. It is tied to a place, to rest, to food, to welcome. It is never abstract. It is always embodied.

We declare our positions and our relationships: when a subject we write about belongs to our world, we say so.

Alessandro Pavoni

Founder & Editor-in-Chief

He writes about taste, provenance, rituals and places as cultural forms. At Sosta, he does not celebrate: he observes, questions and takes a position.
